What is an Accelerated Master's Program?
The Graduate College offers exceptional undergraduate students in selected majors the opportunity to earn both a bachelor's degree and master's degree in as few as 5 years. The Accelerated Master's Program (AMP) is for the top undergraduates in participating majors who plan to continue in a graduate program in the same, or closely related, University of Arizona discipline.
How does it work?
During years 1-3 (or approximately 0-90 credits) students will take undergraduate coursework and be charged at the undergraduate tuition rate.
Once admitted to the AMP, during the senior (or transition year), students may take up to 12 units of graduate coursework which may apply toward both the bachelor's and the master's degrees. Students will be still be charged at the undergraduate tuition rate and retain eligibility for undergraduate scholarships.

What do I need to apply?
The application for both the M.A. and certificate programs is available online through the University of Arizona's Graduate Admissions Application, UA GradApp. After you enter your personal details and educational history, choose Arizona Online as the campus and International Security Studies from the list of either Master's or Certificate programs.
You will need to supply official transcripts of all undergraduate coursework. Please have these documents delivered to the Graduate College, either electronically or through the post, at:

Your resume should include all relevant professional and academic experience.
Your statement of purpose should overview your future goals and career objectives, and how the ISS program will fit in with your future plans. The questions below will help you get started on this requirement.

Meeting with your undergraduate advisor is required before applying to the AMP to discuss your eligibility and determine whether the program is a good fit.
What happens after I finish my Bachelor's degree?
When an AMP student is nearing the completion of their Bachelor's degree, they must submit a new application to the ISS program to enter the program officially as a graduate student. AMP students must meet the same standard admissions requirements expected of all ISS applicants, but the fee for this application is waived for AMP students.
