New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation

Welcome to the International Security Studies (ISS) program! We're excited to have you join our community. On this page, you'll find key steps to get started. Be sure to also review the email from the Graduate College with additional admission details.

Step 1 | Accept Your Admission

To access University of Arizona resources, you must accept your admission.

  1. Sign in to GradApp using the credentials you used to apply.
  2. Under "My Active Applications," select your application and view your "Status."
  3. Select "I accept admission."

Step 2 | Set Up Your NetID

Create your UA NetID as soon as possible. Your NetID grants access to your official UA email, UAccess, D2L, and other university services.

Follow the instructions in your admission email to create your NetID and password.

Services available through your NetID:

  • Catmail: Office UA email (NetID@arizona.edu)
  • UAccess: Manage personal info, register for classes, and more
  • D2L: Access course materials
  • UA Libraries: Access online resources including books, articles, and more

Step 3 | View the Class Schedule

The Class Schedule on our website lists all current and upcoming courses in one place.

Alternatively, you can search for POL/PA courses in UAccess Student Center.

Step 4 | Register for Classes

Register via UAccess Student Center > Enrollment

You must register during the open enrollment window, so check UAccess Student Center for your specific enrollment dates, or check the Office of the Registrar's Registration Schedule.

You must register every fall and spring semester to maintain active enrollment.

Step 5 | Access Your Classes

All ISS courses are hosted on D2L. Log in using your NetID to access course sites, available within the week before class begins. You can access them directly via D2L or through UAccess Student Center.

Step 6 | Pay Your Tuition

Tuition payments are managed by the Bursar's Office. View your balance and make payments via UAccess Student Center.
