Online Approach

The ISS program is fully online, and is designed with flexibility in mind. The online delivery gives you an opportunity to live anywhere in the world and earn a master's degree or certificate in international security from the University of Arizona. Our courses are all eight-weeks long, to better fit into the schedules of working professionals.

The Online Platform

All classes are delivered online. They include video lectures and discussions to approximate an in-class session, as well as additional readings, videos, and other content to supplement the lectures. You are free to engage with the material at any time; it is available 24/7 to fit your schedule. All courses are delivered through D2L (d2l.arizona.edu).

What it Means to be an Online Student

As a student of the University of Arizona, you will be a part of the UA Online campus and are entitled to all benefits of a UA Online student. This includes full access to library resources, as participating in the commencement ceremony, and more.

ISS diplomas read "M.A. in International Security Studies, School of Government and Public Policy, University of Arizona." They do not mention distance learning or online instruction.
