Employment

Educational attainment can be an important step to open the door to a new career field. International security sectors, however, can be difficult to break into and often require the willingness to move (whether to security hot spots like Washington, D.C.) or specific backgrounds (e.g., military experience, security clearance).

If you are considering the jump to a new career field, start looking early! Your status as a student allows you to take advantage of a number of internship opportunities, which can be one of the best ways to get your foot in the door.

By looking for jobs early on, you can also get a feel for what prospective employers expect and what they look for in new employees. We've pulled together resources that may help you in your job search, including some common job search engines.

Career Resources

There are many resources available through the UA's Student Engagement and Career Development program. Services include career exploration, job search tools, resume resources, and interviewing tips.

You can also connect with employers through the UA's Handshake tool. Current students and recent graduates (within one year) already have an account. Simply sign in with your NetID and password.
