Dr. Thorne graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Tulsa and  then received his M.A. and PhD in International Relations from the University of Arizona, where his research focused on arms proliferation and conflict issues. After receiving his PhD, he worked in the defense industry professionally, focusing on assisting defense companies in the realm of import/export regulatory compliance. He is currently serving as a Senior Consultant for Defense Trade Solutions, based in Washington, D.C. Dr. Thorne’s research  focuses on conventional arms control and conventional arms production and exports.
